October 2025 – Audubon, PA – LCR Embedded Systems, a leader in rugged integrated systems and enclosures for defense electronics, today announced the release of its VITA 46.11 compliant chassis manager.

Chassis management is a critical feature in modern VPX and SOSA aligned architectures, ensuring reliable operation, simplified maintenance, and long-term system sustainability.

Manufactured in the USA, LCR’s new chassis manager uses open source code that allows rapid field upgrades for feature enhancements and debugging – a key advantage compared to alternatives offered in the market.

The small footprint enables mounting variations suitable for deployment as well as all stages of lab-based development and demonstration. Mounting options include 3U VPX carrier modules or custom boards for internal mount or backplane integration.

“Chassis managers for VPX / SOSA systems are impacting the way designers ensure reliability in critical defense systems. By monitoring system health, power and temperature fluctuations, chassis managers help minimize system downtime. This chassis manager reflects our commitment to providing essential functionality for embedded systems in defense and aerospace programs,” said Shan Morgan, President of LCR.

The system monitors temperature, voltage, and fan speed control monitoring for up to 32 temperature sensers, 16 I/O points and up to 12 fans respectively. A convenient and easy to read graphical user interface makes system monitoring fast and efficient. A low 4W power draw has minimal impact to overall system dissipated power.

LCR chassis managers may be supplied fully integrated as part of a system level solution or as a standalone module.
